Lab Grown Diamonds: Frequently Asked Questions
The choice is totally yours! But lab grown diamonds offer more stone for less spend with the same quality and durability of a traditional diamond.
Lab grown diamonds are the real deal and physically identical to traditional mined diamonds. The only difference between a lab grown diamond and traditional mined diamond is how they are created.
The singular difference is how they are created. Traditional diamonds are forged naturally over time and have to be mined and extracted before making their way into jewelry. Lab grown diamonds don't require any of that. Their growing process takes place in a laboratory, which allows greater control over the clarity and color of the stone—and more stone for less spend.
Lab grown diamonds do not rely on the human and environmental impact of diamond mining which helps pass on cost savings to consumers. Lab grown diamonds also allow for larger carats at lower costs than traditional fine jewelry styles.
There is no physical or chemical difference between lab grown diamonds and mined diamonds.
Our lab grown diamond styles with each diamond amounting to .50 carats and above are certified through the International Gemological Institute (IGI). IGI screens every diamond using state-of-the-art technologies to determine laboratory-grown diamond quality under strictly controlled conditions.
The same way you would any fine jewelry! Wash your Kendra Scott fine jewelry with gentle soap, rinse well and dry completely with a soft cloth. Always remove your jewelry before swimming and exercising. We don't recommend using jewelry dips or polishes as they may contain harsh abrasives that could damage either the stone or metal. And avoid agents such as perfume, lotion, makeup, hair and cleaning products to maintain your jewelry's shine for a lifetime.
All our lab grown diamond styles are protected for up to one year under our fine jewelry repair policy and covers normal wear repairs. Any repairs performed after one year will be at an additional cost. Please contact our Customer Care team to learn more!
