BUILDING BRIGHT FUTURES WITH THE KENDRA SCOTT FOUNDATION
Education
The Kendra Scott Foundation is dedicated to shining bright and doing good through education. As an organization, we work to uplift educators, underserved students, and families through scholarships, literacy and learning, and library enrichment.
Over the years, we’ve supported teachers across the country through book donations and in-kind donations to help them shine bright in their classrooms.
We’ve granted families educational scholarships to create more opportunities for their futures. And we’ve donated new books, including multicultural and multilingual books, to Title I schools across the country, partnering with nonprofits to beautify libraries and create inviting learning spaces to support the next generation of readers.
Through these combined efforts, we are proud to build brighter futures and empower lives through education.
Reading is vital to a child’s future. Statistics show if children cannot read by third grade, they cannot get the most out of their education, ultimately limiting their potential (Literacy First 2023). To help children thrive
in school, we can support low-income Title I schools by providing diverse books for classrooms and libraries that need them most.
To date, we have launched 10 KSF Yellow Libraries impacting over 5700 students and distributing over 4300 new diverse and bilingual books into Title 1 elementary schools
Over 75 schools applied to receive a KSF Yellow Library through our national partnership with First Book.
By the end of 2024, we will have opened 20 KSF Yellow Libraries in across the country.
The KSF Yellow Library program and the Kendra Scott Foundation will continue to partner with First Book and other like-minded organizations, authors, and community members of influence in 2024 and beyond to ensure schools that receive a KSF Yellow Library receive literacy support for years to come.
Library Enrichment
Through partnerships with like-minded organizations and individuals like Derrick Johnson’s Defend the Dream Foundation, Daymond John, and 100 Black Men of Austin, we’ve helped provide low-income youth with needed resources through library makeovers, book donations, school grants, and gifts for students and educators.
